Spots in Puerto Vallarta

Every year, my best friend Emily and I plan a tropical vacation together. This year, we decided to go to Puerto Vallarta, which was great because it was only a 3 hour plane ride for me. Our hotel was a short bus ride away from Malecon and Old Town so it was convenient to try all the delicious food the town had to offer. The first place we went to was Agave Grill. The waiter was so adorable and made salsa tableside so that was a treat. We had the chicken fajitas, guacamole in a pastry shell, and quesadillas. Everything was excellent and to top it off, the waiter gave us this tequila drink at the end. He said it would make our stomachs feel better after all the food we just ate and he was right.

The next stop was Mauricio's Restaurant in Old Town. When we first entered the restaurant, all I saw were concrete floors and plastic chairs (aka no ambiance), but I actually like hole in the wall places so I didn't worry. I ordered the seafood combination plate of shrimp, mussels, and lobster. Emily ordered the cuchi cuchi shrimp, which was shrimp in a creamy white sauce. Everything was so yummy and it was actually our favorite place of all the restaurants in PV. After dinner, the waiter kept serving us kahlua on the rocks so we left there a little more giggly than usual, which is always a good sign.

For lunch, one day, we were pretty lazy so we decided to go across the street and eat at a taco stand. I ordered the marlin and carne asada tacos. Emily ordered those two in addition to prawn taco. I was a bit hesitant to order that since it was deep fried, but she swore it was delicious, so I am just going to take her word on that. We tried going back for more "dirty tacos," but I guess they were closed on Sundays. Boo!
