As soon as I enter work on Monday morning, it has become a ritual. I email my boyfriend, Jake, with my food cravings for the upcoming weekend. Usually we go out to a restaurant fulfill those needs, but since I wake up everyday at 7am, I thought I might as well make breakfast for him. Since this was my first attempt at poaching eggs, I was a bit nervous that it would get too overcooked so the first egg I made came out a little runny. Oopsy! The recipe said to let it cook for 2.5 minutes so the next batch I made, I timed it and it came out waaay better. I am not really a big fan of canadian bacon, so I used good ole American bacon. It was nice having that crispy texture. As for the hollandaise sauce, I took the easy way out and made it in the blender using this recipe: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Blender-Hollandaise-Sauce/Detail.aspx
All in all, everything turned out pretty good so I am adding this to my recipe list so it may be on rotation in the not-so-distant future.
As for the rest of the weekend, I guess I was really on a roll because I ended up also making tacos and lastly baking chocolate chip cookies so boyfriend really lucked out.
